I know some of you do not see very many wild animals every day. Over 50 percent of the world's population lives in cities. It turns out, to whoever lives in a city, that where you are used to be trees, grass, mountains. Homes. Not the kind of home you live in. Animal's homes. Plant homes. Everything in a city used to be nature. Trees are now traffic lights. Flower fields are now roads. I just wanted to let you know that we cause more destruction than creation.
We all know global warming is a big problem. If this continues, the ice caps will melt, causing major flooding and many animals to lose their homes. This would also be bad for the environment in the south and west, because the temperatures will get hotter than normal, causing everything to wither up. The food chain will also go wild. if a vital species goes extinct due to global warming, the species that eat that species will die, and then the same thing will happen after that, so on and so forth, until there is nothing left. And guess what? This is because of us. Our factories and pollution made a hole in the atmosphere. That lets the sun's harmful rays to shine on the earth's surface making it hotter than it normally is.
Calling all animal lovers! This one's for you. Many people out there have dogs, cats or some other pets. If you do, I think you'd know that they need doctor appointments too. Well, it's the same for wild animals. they can get diseases, or can get hurt, and there is not really a doctor they can go to. That's where we come in. There are special rescuers who are trained to help animals way in the wild. they keep a basic necessity pack to treat the animal until it gets to a clinic. Of course, if an animal seemed fine, they would leave it alone. These are the people you could become, some day.
